My client is a fast growing division of a 19-Billion-dollar company that is an end-to-end solutions provider across the electric power, pipeline, industrial and communications industries. This position will be part of a team responsible for executing on major design-build projects (mostly large scale geotechnical exploration programs) throughout North America.
Some activities include: geo-hazard risk analyses on long, linear corridor-type projects, landslide and slope instability mitigation and design, foundation analyses etc. The preferred candidate will possess much of the following:
- Minimum of B.S. degree in Civil, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology or related field. A M.S. degree is preferred.
- Licensed Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist with an interest to obtain licensure in multiple states.
- Minimum 10 years geotechnical engineering or geological engineering design experience.
- Solid understanding of geotechnical engineering principals related to foundation, slope stability, and retaining structure design.
- Ability to supervise and direct staff and project level staff.
- Experienced with computer programs such as LPILE, GROUP, FAD Tools, SHAFT, GRLWeap, SLIDE, and MathCAD.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Highly organized.
- Able to effectively coordinate technical and administrative staff in development of project deliverables.
- Knowledge of design standards including IBC, FHWA, AASHTO, and ASTM preferred.
- Overnight travel should be expected (approximately 10 to 20%).
